Sizeable Savings across Europe for Rettig Group

Rettig Group is a family owned company, which employs over 4200 people and has been established for over 200 years. With an annual turnover of over €600 million, Rettig is one of the leading players in today’s global market. The Group currently operates in 20 countries, increasingly in China and the USA with the Group’s parent company Rettig Group Ltd based in Helsinki, Finland. The Group is actively involved in three business areas which include; Rettig ICC (hydronic and electrical heating and indoor climate regulation), Bore (shipping) and Tarkala (real estate). In 2005, M&C Energy Group, International energy, water and telecoms consultants, were enlisted to conduct an audit of the European utility costs of the Group.
M&C Energy Group’s analysts identified that there were significant savings to be made within the Rettig Group through a combination of contract negotiation and recovering refunds. Savings of €86,000 were recognised throughout the period 04/05 with further substantial savings of over €214,000 during 05/06. In addition to this, the introduction of flexible purchasing on the Group’s UK gas supplies proved to be an exceptionally beneficial option for Rettig resulting in further savings of £70,000 over 2006. The introduction of this new form of purchasing has given Rettig a much needed competitive advantage in what is an extremely fast paced market with M&C Energy Group looking forward to ultimately rolling this out to European countries over the coming years.

Kieran McCauley from Myson Radiators, part of Rettig Group stated “The introduction of flexible purchasing managed by M&C Energy Group has allowed us to spread the risk of the current forward market as well as manage our budget in a sensible manner. We would like to thank M&C Energy Group and we hope that the successes continue to grow further as we move beyond 2007”
